Without Haste

There is no destination more sacred than being present in this breathing moment. You know that shouting at the sun does not ripen the fruit, nor does the stem’s anxiety open the flower, much less does fear of mystery shorten the night… There is no haste or urgency in the fruit, in the flower, in the night… If we learned not to hurry, we would discover that we are already home. And that there is no need to sustain urgency with the belief that we are worth more when we are something finished. If we learned to walk beside time, we would no longer measure it in achievements or arrivals, or ask it for immediate answers. We would walk beside it as we walk with an old friend, pausing, in gratitude, listening. And in that gentle surrender, deep truths sprout that bloom only in tranquil soil. The eternal comes not through pressure, but through presence.
